ISIS hacks US Army computers takes over Twitter page

ISIS hacks US Army computers, takes over Twitter page

Hackers, allegedly part of ISIS, on Monday claimed that they hacked into computers maintained by US Central Command aka Centcom, which manages US security interests in 20 Gulf countries.
The hackers took over the Twitter page of Centcom, which has over 1 lakh followers, and tweeted screenshots of material stolen from the US army computers. The files, which were also shared on several file sharing websites, reveal the name of army officers and addresses associated with them.
The hackers also published a number of screenshots taken from documents that purportedly showed the US army plans in case of Korean or Taiwanese conflict. But the authenticity of these documents was not verified.
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the CyberCaliphate continues its CyberJihad," the hackers tweeted from the Centcom account. "ISIS is already here, we are in your PCs, in each military base."
Ironically, the US army was hacked while Obama was busy proposing new measures to check the cyber crime targeted at US government installations and hackers trying to get into the computers maintained by US companies or the US government.
The alleged ISIS hackers also took over the YouTube page of the Centcom.
The Twitter page maintained by Centcom was later suspended -- around 20 minutes after the hack -- probably by Twitter to limit the damage.
The hackers also posted a link to a message that they uploaded on PasteBin. The message warned that the terrorists were watching the US soldiers and that they knew everything about them. "We wont stop! We know everything about you, your wives and children. U.S. soldiers! Were watching you," read the message.
US officials later told Reuters that the YouTube account ran by Centcom was suspended. The officials also said that the army was taking "appropriate measures to address the matter".
